Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) - Full Time

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our family-owned veterinary hospital. Collaborative, Fear-Free Certified and bursting with good vibes, our team is all about creating a fun, supportive, and compassionate atmosphere where we prioritize caring for each other, our patients, and our clients.

Details of the position:

  • Routine Procedures: Blood draws, in-house labs, ultrasound setup, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, pet vaccinations and other hospital treatments

  • Team Up with Vets: Be the right-hand hero for our veterinarians, helping with everything from surgeries to diagnostics. Your skills are invaluable.

  • Mentor & Support: Share your wisdom and train veterinary assistants; collaborate and learn from teammates. Together, we lift each other up!

  • Pet Owner Education: Share your knowledge and educate pet owners on the best care practices, preventive health tips, and how to care for their pets post-treatment/surgery. Effective communication is key. Compassion and empathy are imperative.

  • Full-time position. Compensation is dependent on experience and performance. From $28 per hour

  • License/Certification in good standing with the BCVTA is required

Client Care Representative (CCR) - Full Time

Do you love people and their pets? Island Tides Veterinary Hospital is looking for an organized, compassionate and proactive professional who wants to be part of a team with a focus on improving the lives of pets and their people. As a Client Care Representative/Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face (and voice) of our hospital.

Island Tides is a calm, progressive and supportive veterinary hospital where we take pride in providing exceptional care to every patient and client. We follow Fear Free handling protocols and work hard to create a positive experience for everyone in the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and their pets with warmth, empathy and professionalism

  • Schedule appointments, manage phone calls and emails, and process payments accurately and efficiently

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date patient and client records

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and team members

  • Help to maintain a clean, organized and calm environment for pets, clients and team members

  • Maintain composure in pet emergency or stressful situations

  • Provide information to clients regarding preparation for upcoming medical appointments/procedures and clinic policies

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy

  • Proficient in computer use and POS machines

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Flexibility in scheduling, including willingness to work on Saturdays
